We are committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive environment for our patients, staff and visitors. We understand that illness, anxiety or frustration can sometimes cause people to feel distressed, and we will always try to listen and help. However, we will not tolerate violence, aggression or abuse in any form.

This includes:

Physical assault

Threats

Intimidation

Shouting

Swearing

Discriminatory or offensive language

Repeated unreasonable demands

Harassment, or

Abusive behaviour towards staff or other patients.

It also applies to behaviour in person, over the telephone, in writing, or online. Any such behaviour may result in action being taken, including restriction of services or removal from the practice list, in line with NHS guidance. In some instances we will report incidents to the Police.  The patient will be given the opportunity to amend their behaviour, with the practice providing a warning that the Police will be called.  If the Police are called, the patient will be removed from the practice list.

If a patient is unhappy with any aspect of the service provided by the practice this should be voiced appropriately, either by arranging an appointment or calling our main number to discuss the issue with our Practice Manager.
